Accessibility Checker ScreenshotDo you want to make sure your web site adheres to the Disability Discrimation Act (commonly referred to as Web Accessibility)? It is often the case that when a web site is designed it is one of the acceptance criteria that it conforms to the DDA. The issue then comes when the responisbility for site content and maintenance moves to you or your staff.

We have the solution for you – our accessibility checker. This tool sits at the top of your site pages when you are editing them, you click the ‘quick check’ button and it will identify most of the common mistakes and some uncommon ones!

However well trained someone is there is the chance that they will make mistakes which break the compliance. They may for instance forget to add descriptions to new images or accidentally add a heading at the wrong level. These mistakes are easy to make and often go live without being picked up. This tool will help make sure this does not happen.

It also checks for other items which although not to do with compliance ensure your pages follow web standards. For instance it picks up incorrectly sized images which could increase your page loading time and the use of tables or empty lines for layout – a no in terms of modern web design.

Unlike other checkers it will also work for pages which require you to log in to view them – something we find particularly useful.

If you are interested in finding out more about the tool please contact us and note that it is installed free of charge to any of our web design clients.
